An Authoritas analysis of Google’s AI Overviews shows a site that once held the top search position loses roughly 79% of clicks when its link appears below the AI summary. News publishers say the drop represents an existential threat to outlets that depend on search traffic.

UK outlets are already feeling the hit: MailOnline reports click-through rates sinking 56% on desktop and 48% on mobile where AI summaries appear. Authoritas also found YouTube links rise in prominence under the new format, reallocating attention inside Alphabet’s own ecosystem.

GitHub opened public preview of Spark, an AI platform that turns natural language prompts into complete, hosted web applications. The service sits inside the $39-per-month Copilot Pro+ subscription.
